Cruising through Facebook yesterday I saw a link from the Family Reading Partnership. Clicked over and read a bright and hopeful article by Amy Dickinson- Ask Amy of the Chicago Tribune. It's an idea called A Book on Every Bed. Basically you buy a book for your kid, wrap it and leave it under the tree. Santa will then transfer the book to your child's bed for a first gift Christmas morning.
Why books? "If you have a book, you are never alone."
Amy has teamed with the Family Reading Partnership to promote this idea, and spread the word to every family that a book, the gift of stories, and the power of literacy is one of the best gifts we can give our kids.
Go. Read the article. Get your children books. And let Santa do the rest.

just one book? Books are our family tradition.
As many books as you can get Sue. Or more...
Thanks for spreading this idea! Children's books are little packages of love!
